[Diaspora Times] ‘Hold Still, Vincent’ Podcast Makes Debut: Gemma Chan, Desmond Chiam, Jessica Henwick, Noma Dumezweni, Kelly Marie Tran, Tzi Ma And More Set As Cast
QCODE has dropped all episodes of the podcast Hold Still, Vincent today — but before your rush out and feed it to your ears, you need to read the cast because it is hella stacked.
Based on the tragic true events of Vincent Chin’s murder, which has been swept under the rug by American history (no surprise there), Hold Still, Vincent is produced by Eternals queen Gemma Chan, A-Major Media and M88. The podcast is the reading of the script which is on its way to becoming a feature film. The script reading will be followed by a Q&A moderated by John Cho. Aaron and Winston Tao (Watching, Sleep Well, My Baby) direct the screenplay written by Johnny Ngo.
The cast includes Michael Angarano (This is Us), the aforementioned Gemma Chan (Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians), Rosalind Chao (Better Things), Desmond Chiam (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Larry Clarke (The Laundromat”), Dane DeHaan (Lisey’s Story), Noma Dumezweni (The Undoing), David Harbour (Stranger Things), Garrett Hedlund (The United States Vs. Billie Holiday), Jessica Henwick (The Matrix 4), Remy Hii (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Gillian Jacobs (Love), Luke James (The Chi), Karan Kendrick (Just Mercy), Ki Hong Lee (The Maze Runner Trilogy), Tzi Ma (Mulan), Kelly Marie Tran (Raya and The Last Dragon), Benedict Wong (Raya and The Last Dragon). read more…

[Brieftake] Interview: Kung Fu’s Tzi Ma
As soon as I saw that Tzi Ma was cast in the CW series Kung Fu, I knew that we were destined to speak with the classy and dedicated actor who stars as the father of Olivia Liang’s Nicky Shen. Ma has attached himself to yet another strong project, as we were big supporters of Lulu Wang’s The Farewell, Alan Yang‘s Tigertail, Mina Shum’s Meditation Park and Niki Caro’s Mulan. Kung Fu is a wonderful reinterpretation of the classic series, featuring an almost entirely Asian cast on a network series and Tzi Ma is a wonderful advocate for representation.
We sat down virtually with the delightful Tzi Ma from the Vancouver set of Kung Fu and he provided a legendary interview. read more…
